I wanted it myself
I wanted a budget engine for a quick overview of the possibilities. Not a report after the fact — something I could pull at.
I wanted it simple. But the rules that make a budget true — regulations, laws and recommendations, all of them — made the work more complex than a first budget should ask for.

but absolutely complete. The defaults carry that burden now: they set the terms correct bookkeeping expects, so you get started fast — move the sliders straight away, adjust the tax treatments afterwards.
Two options, no forecast
A spreadsheet is right the day it is made and out of date the week after. An accountant answers after the fact. Neither gives you something you can change one variable in and see the consequence of — which is what you want when you are weighing a hire, a price rise or an investment.
Harder than it looks
Tax rules change more often than templates get maintained. That is what happens when the rules live in a spreadsheet instead of in code. An engine with tests is updated once and holds everywhere. A template has to be downloaded again by everyone using it — assuming they hear it changed.
What actually got built
The engine handles moms at 25, 12, 6 and 0 percent, employer contributions, särskild löneskatt, egenavgifter, corporate tax and loss carry-forward, and it tells the cash method apart from the invoice method. It taxes an aktiebolag differently from an enskild firma, because that difference is the first thing a business owner needs to see. SIE import works, so a budget can start from real figures rather than guesses.
The engine is compared against published budget templates automatically, on every change. That is not a quality promise — it is an alarm. If a figure moves without anyone asking, it shows up the same day.
Your data stays with you
A liquidity budget is more sensitive than most documents a small company holds — it shows when the money runs out. So it is not stored with us: it runs on your own machine and saves there.
Where it stands now
One desktop application. Free is all four views, the whole engine, no timer — but it keeps nothing: the budget goes when you close it. A licence at 199 kr including VAT — introductory, normally 399 kr — saves your work and adds JSON import / export and SIE import / export. One payment, not a subscription. Development is self-financed.
